Soooo I just submitted my Kickstarter project for approval!! I know it takes a few days and since its the weekend I’m hoping my project will be up and running by Wed. Everything looks good with the pledges and everything…that video was the hardest thing to get right but I think it did a good job…short and pretty awesome….the ending is the best though (You have to watch it to get what I mean…I put a surprise in there for everyone!!)
I’ll post the links when its approved and its up & running!!
If you’ve followed my blog the last couple of months I’ve talked about a Kickstarter project I’m launching. Like I said before I wanted to bring a new series of graffiti artwork to the New York Comic Con this year. But as I planned the series out I realized I wanted to do something new…but what? Last year I saw so many amazing artists…theres thousands of artists and hundreds of thousands of people attending the comic con…so its easy to just be another artist with a booth. I wanted to make something that would help me stand out a bit….after a few attempts of different styles I think I found one that works…I feel comfortable wth it…and hoenstly I love how this first attempt turned out, it gives me a ton of room to play with and really make every piece different and special. A digital water color technique…and the rough draft above is just that…a very rough draft…a plan on making prints that will be close to impossible to tell if they are digital or the real thing. So once you see the new series it will look different then the draft I’m showing you here and 10x better. I’m going to introduce batman and joker for my Kickstarter project…give me another week!!! Hope you enjoy it and please leave feedback if you have any!!
I was really pushing for May 1st launch…but sadly I just scrapped the series I was planning on doing. I’ve decided I’m not going to bring my graffiti stencil style artwork…I did that last year. So I will be bringing something different. I’ve been working on a Captain America piece and a spiderman piece…once they come out just right my Kickstarter project will be launched…I think sometime this week that will happen. Below is a very rough draft and a sneek peek into what I’m working on.
Hint: It’s a polygon style…a few artists have produced similar styles but I’m not using polygons…that’s sooo 2012….I’m using a triangle vector art style courtsey of Adobe Illustrator. It’s a pain in the butt but the look of this spiderman so far is pretty cool…i really like the web. I use all my pictures from toys or statues I have. The web on this one wasn’t long enough so I did a quick job of making longer with copy/paste. I just think it adds more to the image.
